Kay Aikin

Kay Aikin is the CEO of Dynamic Grid, a utility software company based in Portland Maine. She is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and holds a degree in energy/sustainability engineering. She has spent her career as an energy engineer, architectural designer, and business development executive, and is currently the CEO of Dynamic Grid an AI-based complex systems software company providing distributed control technologies for the utility and microgrid industries.

She has spent many years working with co-founder Dr. Caryl Johnson studying the application of AI/complex systems to the integration of Distributed Energy Resources into the electrical grid as an expansion of her experience in sustainable technologies. She is a recognized Transactive Energy expert and is a regular speaker at conferences on this topic as well as distributed intelligence on the edge and Senior Advisor for the United Nations Environmental Programme on Grid/Building integration. She is also on multiple boards including the Microgrid Resource Council, and a member of IEEE Power and Energy Society, Smart Electric Power Alliance.  She is an active participant in the Transactive Energy Working Group.
