Rahul Bahadur
Rahul Bahadur is a Sr. Manager of Research &Development in the Networking and Security Business Unit of VMware in Palo Alto, California. He has over 20 years of experience in Internet Protocol (IP) Networking and Routing and has delivered multiple standards-based and customized solutions in a high-availability and security context. His experience includes traditional, virtualized and software-defined networking (SDN) environments. He holds two patents in the area of high-availability as applied to networking. Prior to VMware, Rahul led teams at Check Point Software Technologies and Nokia.
Rahul is highly passionate about accelerating the adoption of solutions to eliminate the impact of climate change and to create a more sustainable future. In particular, he is involved with standards bodies, projects within his company and organizations within his community to facilitate energy efficiency and the Smart Grid. Previously, Rahul also served as a US representative of the ISO/IEC Home Electronic System working group.
Rahul’s educational background includes the sciences, technology and business. He obtained a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from the University of Southern California after obtaining graduate and undergraduate degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology and Maharaja’s College (University of Rajasthan), respectively. He obtained an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Singapore Management University. He also has a Certificate in Sustainable Energy Management from the Presidio Graduate School.
