Yashar Kenarangui is a Principal Consulting Engineer at Xcel Energy's Grid Innovation & Infrastructure Solutions organization, where he serves as a technical lead for the company's grid modernization initiatives. He has over 15 years of experience in power systems engineering, with expertise in grid integration of generation and energy storage resources, and mission-critical power systems and microgrids.

He is an active contributor to IEEE standards development and currently serves as Vice Chair of IEEE 1547.10. In addition, he is an Adjunct Faculty Member at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Yashar holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois.
