Yashar Kenarangui is a Principal Consulting Engineer at Xcel Energy's Grid Innovation group, bringing over 15 years of expertise in power engineering, consulting, and the electric power industry.  He specializes in the techno-economic evaluation and demonstration of emerging grid technologies, supporting the company’s grid modernization initiatives.

Prior to joining Xcel Energy, Yashar held positions at Sargent & Lundy and S&C Electric Company. He is an active contributor to IEEE standards development and currently serves as the Vice Chair of IEEE 1547.10. Additionally, he is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Saint Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.

He holds an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois.
